After alot of research, I finally said fuggit and pulled the trigger on the LG 34GK950F. I agree with the Lenovo 34 UW in this thread to be a very good bang for the buck monitor, and you need to understand that for this price, you get what you pay for. During this time I wasn't too anxious and maybe its good thing it took this long as it gave me more time to research.

Dell actually gave me a Jship date when I ordered and has recently been updated to June 8th. I already had the Dell S3220DGF on order since beginning of April and was patiently waiting for the delivery. I recommend the Dell S3220DGF for casual gamers, LG 27gl83a-b IPS for competitive gamers, and this UW for those who mainly plays single player games. I just received this last night, and it's already packed up to be sent back tomorrow. The extra FOV really helps, but benefits are quickly negated once you start moving and turning and everything becomes a huge blurry mess. Too bad for people like me who mainly plays shooting games because the price and UW is perfect. All this combined makes it a really bad first person shooter monitor, at least if you're trying to win in Warzone. The colours are almost as bad as the Acer XF0 240hz monitor deal a month or two ago, which I sold within a week. Colours and viewing angles are also much worse on this compared to the Dell, very noticeable especially because it is UW (colour shifting). I returned the Dell S3220DGF for mainly the motion blur, but this Lenovo monitor is even worse. The picture quality is pretty bad, colours are washed out, grey uniformity is bad, motion blur is bad. So I've ordered literally every single gaming monitor that pops up on RFD in the past couple of months and here's my impression.

On my Mac book Pro, the display is flickering like crazy tried multiple cables, multiple settings and max it showed was 60Hz and flickering was bad.Īnd btw, does this monitor comes with a guide? no guide or troubleshoot notes in my package.Īs far as I noticed no speakers on the monitor.

I was using Lenovo Flex 14" laptop with windows 10 Pro. I think if I didn't come from an IPS and just started with this (say from a TN or another VA), I would be okay it with it, but compared to an IPS, it's a no for me. I use an ultrawide monitor for work and the colour accuracy (lack thereof) compared to an IPS is something I can't get over. Monitor is FreeSync, but I did not try G-Sync on it yet (posts on Reddit say it doesn't work, but I haven't tried). I played around with things like SwitchResX and it wasn't cutting it for me Not sure why OS X doesn't have the wonderful scaling feature like Windows, where I had no issues Trying to scale down makes things blurry (I switched it 2560x1080 and fonts are just more blurry than my old native 2560x1080) This is more an OS X issue than the monitor, but OS X sucks at scaling on 1440p fonts, icons, everything is just super tiny and hard to read Plug positioning is annoying (it comes from the bottom of the monitor, so unplugging and plugging things in gets annoying) Included DisplayPort cable is junk was running into issues with it but luckily I bought a DisplayPort 1.4 cable from Amazon

Updating the Drivers was a bit annoying (the drivers aren't signed, so you need to use Advanced Boot to do it (. Viewing angles, even dead on, you can see some shifting in the corners (for example, viewing a white page, the center of the screen is white but I can see some dark fringing on the corners) I played around with the monitor settings + nVidia set up and couldn't quite get something that I liked Colours are pretty washed out (IMO) coming from an IPS Ultrawide, this might be the biggest deal breaker for me Great value at ~$520 after tax + Rakuten

Using with a PC, the 144hz is buttery smooth 1440p
